WSSC FCU’s member-focused auto refinance promotion lowered average loan rates, returned nearly $10,000 in cash back, and helped members keep more of their hard-earned money.
Laurel, Maryland, [July 20, 2026] – WSSC Federal Credit Union is celebrating the success of its Triple Play Auto Loan Refinance Campaign, a four-month initiative that delivered meaningful financial relief to members while producing record lending growth for the credit union.
Running from March through June 2026, the limited-time campaign encouraged members to refinance auto loans from other financial institutions by offering three valuable benefits:
WSSC FCU met or beat qualifying auto loan rates by 1% APR
Members received 1% cash back, up to $500
Members enjoyed 90 days with no payments
The results speak for themselves.
Participating members reduced their average interest rate from 12.44% to 7.75%, helping lower monthly payments and significantly reduce the overall cost of borrowing. Collectively, members are projected to save an estimated $153,665.43 in interest over the life of their loans.
In addition, WSSC Federal Credit Union returned $9,698.34 in cash-back rebates, with participating members receiving an average rebate of $303.07.
Approximately 1% of WSSC FCU's membership took advantage of the campaign, demonstrating the value members place on opportunities to strengthen their financial well-being.
The campaign also generated exceptional lending results. Compared to the same promotional period in the previous year, total loan dollars funded increased by 189%, while the total number of loans funded increased by 208%, making it one of the credit union's most successful lending promotions to date.
"Our goal was simple: help our members keep more of their hard-earned money," said Jeff Goff, CEO of WSSC Federal Credit Union. "By lowering the average refinance rate, returning nearly $10,000 in cash-back rebates, and helping members save more than $153,000 in projected interest, this campaign delivered meaningful financial relief when our members needed it most."
As rising costs continue to impact household budgets, WSSC FCU designed the Triple Play campaign to provide both immediate and long-term value. The combination of lower interest rates, cash back, and payment flexibility allowed members to improve cash flow today while saving thousands of dollars over the life of their loans.
"The success of this campaign is measured by more than loan growth," added Goff. "It's measured by the financial impact we made in our members' lives. Every dollar we helped our members save is a dollar they can use to build emergency savings, pay down debt, invest in their families, or reach another financial goal. That's the credit union difference."
As a member-owned financial cooperative, WSSC Federal Credit Union remains committed to creating innovative financial solutions that help members borrow smarter, save more, and achieve greater financial confidence.
